California Mandatory Posting Updates

  • 01/2024 - Employment Discrimination - The California Civil Rights Department has updated their Discrimination and Harassment notice. The updated notice reflects a new protected category. Employers are prohibited from discharging employees or refusing to hire individuals based on their off-duty use of cannabis. In addition, the updated notice reflects that employers must provide up to five days of leave following a reproductive loss event.
  • 12/2023 - Minimum Wage - The California Department of Labor & Industrial Relations has updated their Minimum Wage notice. The updated notice reflects an adjustment of the state minimum wage to $16.00/hour, effective January 1, 2024.
  • 12/2023 - Safety and Health Protection on the Job -The California Department of Labor & Industrial Relations has updated their Safety and Health Protection on the Job notice. The updated notice reflects that an employer receiving a citation, an order to take special action, or a special order must post it or a copy, including a multi-language employee notification, at or near the place of the violation or unsafe condition for three working days, or until the unsafe condition is corrected, to warn employees of danger that may exist.
  • 12/2023 - Paid Sick Leave - The California Department of Labor & Industrial Relations has updated their Paid Sick Leave notice. The updated notice reflects a new law that increases the amount of paid sick leave provided to employees from 24 hours to 40 hours and also increases the accrual and carryover to 80 hours or 10 days.
